England star speaks her mindHolds nothing back on the fieldLikes to play by her own rulesWHAT HAPPENED?
The Manchester United and Lionesses goalkeeper has never been one to bite her tongue, and that is certainly the case when she finds herself in the midst of competitive action. Earps famously let out a foul-mouthed roar when saving a penalty from Jenni Hermoso in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final.

She continues to hold nothing back when turning out for club and country, with Earps telling when asked what would be picked up if she were to play with a wire: “A lot of profanity I think, I’m just super passionate and a few of the girls have said to me that when we’re playing small sided games, they’ll just listen to the stuff that comes out my mouth because its just random and kind of unfiltered. Its exactly what I’m thinking. I’m very competitive, I play to win, I play hard. I don’t like to lose.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Earps is not about to change her ways and added on the importance of living life by her own rules: “Its important to be yourself all the time. I think I pride myself on being a bit of a goofball but I’m just kind of a normal person who’s just trying to see how far she can go in her career and just tries to be authentically herself.”

Earps’ talent and intensity have taken her to the very top of the game – as a European Champion, winner of the FIFA Best Women’s Goalkeeper award and recipient of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize – but it remains to be seen what the immediate future holds for her as a contract in Manchester runs down.
