Jesus did make it onto the field against Porto, with Mikel Arteta introducing him in the 83rd minute. Arsenal held a 1-0 lead at that stage and saw the tie go all the way to penalties following a 1-1 draw on aggregate. Jesus was not required to step up in the shootout, with Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice converting their spot-kicks as David Raya saved two in a 4-2 triumph.
