Thuram was last in action when he helped Inter overcome Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night. He played the full game as his side set up a semi-final with Barcelona, but his participation against the La Liga giants has been thrown into doubt after his side confirmed he is struggling with muscle fatigue in his left thigh.

Sky Italia claim the Frenchman is likely to be rested this weekend and could also miss the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan, but he could be available to take on Roma before the first outing with Barca.

Inter are well placed in the Champions League after knocking out Bayern but still have work to do to secure the Serie A title. Simone Inzaghi's side are three points clear at the top of the table, with Thuram contributing 14 league goals, and have a tough assignment on Sunday when they visit Bologna. They'll have to make do without Thuram, with Marko Arnautovic the expected replacement up front.
