Bay FC, the National Women's Soccer League's newest franchise, has announced that WNBA champion and three-time All-Star Sabrina Ionescu has joined the club as an investor and official Commercial Advisor. The Bay Area native will partner with the organization on commercial strategy and support Bay FC athletes in building their brand endorsement portfolios.

“Sabrina is the ultimate innovator and creates new pathways for aspiring and current professional athletes.  Adding her passion and vision to what we are building at Bay FC will allow us to further disrupt the sports landscape,” said Bay FC CEO Brady Stewart. “Her roots in the Bay Area and commitment to being a catalyst for positive change in women’s sports represents who we are at Bay FC.  We look forward to partnering with her to continue reaching our goal of being a top global sports franchise.”

Ionescu's involvement with Bay FC represents a significant crossover between women's basketball and soccer, two of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. She decided to invest in and actively contribute to the NWSL club because she believes in the club’s vision for the future and the impact they want to make upon women’s soccer.

With Ionescu on board, Bay FC will look to capitalize on her commercial expertise and star power to enhance the club's brand and support its athletes. As the 2025 NWSL season progresses, all eyes will be on Bay FC to see how Ionescu's involvement translates into commercial success and on-field performance. The NWSL side kick off their 2025 season against Utah Royals FC on March 16 before hosting Racing Louisville at the PayPal Park on March 23.
